The soccer gods have spoken! The US did it again….they laid down another houdini to get into the finals. But are they a better team on paper than Spain? NO, they have a lot to grow to really be a contender, but they brought heart and grit and nothing but. Altidore has the makings of something bigger.  Will they beat Brazil in the finals, I doubt it….Brazil has just way too many weapons.

With that said, I think its time to cash out my chips and see how the finals go down.

Don’t think I will be doing much trading tomorrow as the USA plays Spain in the 2009 Confederation’s Cup. Anyone who knows anything about soccer would say that Spain has this one in the bag…but the way the US pulled off that Houdini stunt (with the help of Brazil) to get into Semi’s, my money is on team USA!

The Bears have emerged from hibernation over the last couple of days and I must say, they are growling. They are currently leaning on the market trying to force more selling. Its not time to panic as that never made anybody money yet. I would be looking around for good entry prices like Wells Fargo under $23 is a bargain (all-you-can-eat). Remember, window dressing is coming up end of month and you know what that means! Up, Up and Away for the sexier names.

Disclaimer: I am LONG Wells Fargo (WFC) stock as of the posting date of this article. This post is merely to present an idea and not to try to persuade you to buy/sell any security within. Please do your own Due Diligence BEFORE making any trades.

As I mentioned in my blog post yesterday that I wanted in on Alpha Natural Resources (ANR), I did so this morning at $23.20 and held it to $24.56. This was purely a technical play for me off a hard bottom as I do believe that crude may come in pulling this thing down a little further…If this thing falls to $21 - $22, I must say that I would have to look at it again for a longer term hold.

The bears came out swinging today and the longs didn’t even decide to leave the locker room…Just nothing but relentless selling. Why? what has changed in the world since last week….we know no more or less about the state of the economy, just another opinion of how things will play out. I got hit on some of my positions but not worried, panicking never made anybody money…we will soon come back to our senses. But if one thing always hold true…when there is blood in the streets, usually it is time to buy. The VIX surged today suggesting fear is back…fear of what? our own shadow?

I have some plays which I intend to get really involved with tomorrow. The first is commodity stock ANR (Alpha Natural Resources) at 23, this is a bargain for a bounce to 25…it was off 12% today. Also, I am looking at Chesapeake (CHK) at 19.30 for bounce to 22. I missed the initial commodities run, but they have been coming in and may not be over going down, but I am legging in.

Long good entry points
